Reading & Watching Update

Hi everyone!

It is finally Friday…woohoo! This has been such a long and chaotic week for me, but surprisingly I did get a lot of reading & tv show watching done. Here’s a little update!

Currently Reading:

Girls on the Verge by Sharon Biggs Waller

I am only 60 pages into this, but so far it is VERY good. I’m finding it hard to put down so I’m sure I will finish it by the end of today or early tomorrow.

Recently Finished:

The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young

I’m so happy that I finally read this! I ended up giving it 4 stars. I really enjoyed it, but not as much as Sky in the Deep. I absolutely love Adrienne Young’s writing though. It is so beautiful and it’s easy to get lost between the pages.

Reading Next:

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

I had no plans to start a reread of Harry Potter this year, but here we are! My library had the audiobook available so I borrowed it real quick. I’m also going to follow along with the illustrated edition. This will be my second time reading this series and I’m really looking forward to it!

Currently Watching:

The Office

I don’t normally like half hour comedies so I was a little iffy about watching this show, but y’all…I LOVE IT SO MUCH! It’s the most ridiculous show I have ever watched, but ugh it is so good. Jim, Pam, Dwight and Michael are the best characters in the entire world. I only have 5 episodes left and I am dragging them out. I don’t want this show to be over!

Watching Next:

Grimm

I really didn’t know what to watch after The Office so I asked on my Instagram and this show was the winner. Grimm sounds right up my alley & I am honestly surprised I haven’t watched it before now. Fingers crossed I love it!

Currently Watching #1

Hi everyone!

If you read my 25 Facts About Me, then you will know that I am a total TV nerd! I have a TON of shows that I watch throughout the year. No joke, I have to have a list that tells me when each show airs. If I don’t have that list then I am like a lost puppy dog.

Since I do watch quite a bit of TV, I thought that it would be fun to share with you all what I have been watching. I am definitely going to make this a series so I will only share 3 or 4 shows at a time!

The Boys (Amazon Prime Video)

Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that’s when they’re using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it’s the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. Based on the comic book series of the same name.

This is the most recent show I have finished. There is only one season so far and it’s only eight episodes, so it was super quick to get though. The Boys was adapted by Eric Kripke, who just happened to create my favorite show of all time, Supernatural! I knew once he announced this new show I was going to give it a try.

Of all the shows Kripke has created, this one has to be wildest. If you plan to watch this, please believe me when I say…The Boys is messed up. Like within the first five minutes, you will be saying “Oh my god, did that just happen? Ew.”

So yeah, it’s crazy, but it’s also SO good. I loved most (screw you Homelander) of the characters, the production is fantastic and the story will make you want to go up against the Seven!

Big Brother 21 (CBS)

In this combination of a reality series and a game show, the contestants battle it out each week to maintain their places in the house, all in the hope of claiming the $500,000 prize awarded at the end of the summer.

I’m sure most of you know what Big Brother is. This is one of the only reality shows that I watch and I look forward to it every summer. I usually get super invested each season, but unfortunately I have not liked season 21 at al. CBS picked some really awful houseguests this year. Typically I will have a favorite player, but I could honestly care less about who wins this time around

So now you’re probably like…Sadie, if you don’t like the houseguests then just stop watching. Well, I cant. I feel am obligation to finish this out since there is only one week left in this season.

I am REALLY hoping that next summer Big Brother 22 will be a hundred times better!

Breaking Bad (AMC & Netflix)

Mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher Walter White thinks his life can’t get much worse. His salary barely makes ends meet, a situation not likely to improve once his pregnant wife gives birth, and their teenage son is battling cerebral palsy. But Walter is dumbstruck when he learns he has terminal cancer. Realizing that his illness probably will ruin his family financially, Walter makes a desperate bid to earn as much money as he can in the time he has left by turning an old RV into a meth lab on wheels.

This show has been off the air for 6 years, but randomly last month, Netflix shared a teaser for a Breaking Bad movie! Of course I felt the need to rewatch the series & oh boy I am loving it! It kind of feels like I’m watching the show for the first time again because I have forgotten so much.

Breaking Bad is such a legend. It’s honestly one of the best shows I have ever watched. Between the complex characters & the gripping story, this series is truly one of a kind. I highly recommend it!

That’s all for now! The next round will be after all the fall shows have premiered. There are some new shows that I am really interested in so hopefully I will like them enough to share them with you all.
