Backlist Books I Want to Read in 2020

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing the 10 backlist books I NEED to read by the end of 2020.

To my knowledge, backlist books are ones that were published before the current year.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

It is going to happen this year. Carry On is top priority!

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

I honestly don’t even know the synopsis of this book. I do know it involves a sibling relationship and that it will most likely be emotional. It has been on my shelf for a while so it is time to read it.

Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno

My wonderful friend Lacey gifted this to me last year! I started it, but never got around to finishing it. I am going to have to go back to the beginning though because I remember nothing of what I read.

The Last Hope by Krista and Becca Ritchie

I absolutely loved the first book in this duology and The Last Hope was one of my anticipated releases of 2019. I’m not really sure why I haven’t already read this. I need to know what these characters are up to and how they are dealing with things since the ending of The Raging Ones.

Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston

I got this in an Owlcrate box TWO years ago! It has to be read very soon.

Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant

I have heard people say that this book really freaks them out sooooo yes please! Also, Mira Grant is actually Seanan McGuire and I love her writing so I am super excited.

A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir

This title made it onto many TBRs last year. Unfortunately, I never got around to it. My plan is to reread An Ember in the Ashes and then jump right into this one. I want to be all caught up in time for the fourth and final book that is hopefully coming out next year.

Brigid Kemmerer backlist

In 2019 I found this author and she quickly became one of my favorites. I want to go back and read everything she has published. So this will include the Elemental series, More Than We Can Tell, Thicker Than Water and Call It What You Want

Backlist Books

Hello everyone!

Today I am going tell you the 12 backlist books I NEED to read this year.

To my knowledge, backlist books are ones that were published before the current year.

—————————————-

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I’ve been seeing this book everywhere, and I really do mean EVERYWHERE! People are really loving it. I feel like I’m missing out on something amazing. This has top priority!

The Diviners by Libba Bray
This sounds like the perfect October read! I’ve heard that the audiobook is really good, so I will definitely be listening to it.

The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
I’m hoping I can get to this before the movie comes out in May!

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Don’t judge me too much for this one. I’m mad at myself for not reading the series sooner . I’ve had the first book sitting on my shelf for a long time, just haven’t had the urge to pick it up. It’s going to happen this year though. Someone hold me to it!

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
So Chelsea from chelseadolling reads absolutely loves this book…like a lot. I have found so many great books because of her Booktube channel, so I’m definitely looking forward to this one.

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
I started ADSOM, but wasn’t giving it my full attention so I put it down for a later time. I really love Victoria Schwab’s writing so I have high hopes!

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
I actually started the audiobook for this last summer. I only got a few hours in, then decided to put it down. I just wasn’t in the mood to read a high fantasy at that time. When I do decide to pick this back up, it will be through audio again. The narrator was fantastic!

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
I’m slowly making my way through all of Rainbow Rowell’s books!

You by Caroline Kepnes
This is told from a stalker’s point of view, which sounds beyond creepy. It was recently turned in to a TV show and it’s super popular right now. I do want to watch it, but need to read the book first!

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
I don’t even know if I like this book yet, but I already want the sequel. It’s title is Wayward Son and I am in love with it. If you are a Supernatural fan like I am, you’ll know that the unofficial theme song for the show is “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas. So I’m that nerd who can’t wait to have those two titles together on my shelf. Super weird…I know.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
This is the only one on the list that I’m actually nervous about. It’s an adult fantasy, which intimidates me a bit. So we will see how it goes.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
I haven’t read the book, nor have I watched the movie. Hoping to change that soon!

I have lots of reading to do!
