How is it already August? I swear it still feels like March. 😬

My TBR for the month is going to be pretty chill. I am still feeling a little slumpy so I’m not going to put too much on my plate.

This is the third book in the Once Upon a Con series. I had this on my TBR last month, but I failed to get around to it. This title releases on August 4th!

TBR JAR

I have a TON of books on my shelves that I need to read and I thought doing a TBR jar would be a fun way to get to them. I am going to draw out two books each month and I have to read one (or both if I am super interested).

This month I drew…

The King of Bourbon Street by Thea de Salle
I don’t really know much about this book besides the fact that it’s an adult romance with a plus size main character. I mean, I’m sold just on that alone!

Graceling by Kristin Cashore
This pick is actually perfect! I was really hoping to read Graceling this summer anyway so yay!!

And there’s so much more I WANT to read this month but nothing is set in stone!

What do you plan to read in July??

April & OWLs Magical Readathon TBR

Hi friends! It has been quite a while since my last post. Things have been a little crazy. With everything going on in the world, I haven’t had the time or energy to write up new posts. I haven’t even been able to read much at all. My mind has been so overwhelmed with coronavirus news and it’s been hard to focus on anything else.

It’s been two weeks since social distancing/quarantine started and I am finally getting into a routine. I’m really hoping that April will be a lot calmer and easier than March was.

I have an ambitious TBR this month. I am going to break it down into sections to better explain!

ARCs

Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner
Release date: May 26
Publisher: Berkley
I don’t really know much about this book besides it’s a F/F romance set in the entertainment industry. That’s enough info to get me super excited to start reading!

Admission by Julie Buxbaum
Release date: May 5
Publisher: Delacorte
I know that it takes a while to get a book published, so I’m convinced this author is psychic. Admission follows a college bribery scandal. Sound familiar…Aunt Becky???

By the Book by Amanda Sellet
Release date: May 12
Publisher: HMH Books For Young Readers
Again, I can’t remember much about the synopsis, but I know it has to do with a book nerd. I’m here for it.

OWLs MAGICAL READATHON

This AMAZING readathon is hosted by Book Roast. She puts so much hard work into this and I am very excited to participate for the first time. I chose to pursue the Seer career! This means I need to complete three courses to pass my OWLs!

➸ Ancient Runes: heart on the cover or in the title

More Than We Can Tell by Brigid Kemmerer
This is the companion novel to Letters to the Lost. I absolutely loved that book and I can’t wait to see some of the characters again.

➸ Astronomy: read a majority of this book when it’s dark outside

The Whisper Man by Alex North
An adult thriller about catching a serial killer. I figured this would be a great one to read at night!

➸ Divination: assign numbers to your TBR and use a random number generator to pick your read

Wilder Girls by Rory Power
This couldn’t have been a more perfect pick! I have been wanting to read this for such a long time!

OTHER READS

The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware
I have been waiting for my audiobook hold to come in for a while & I am next in line. Finally!

Let’s Call It a Doomsday by Katie Henry
I thought this would be an interesting time to read this book.

That’s it! Fingers crossed I can get to all of these.

I hope you all are staying home (if you can) & taking care of yourselves.

Friends Pick My March TBR

This month I am doing something a little different with my TBR and I am SO excited about it!

I asked three of my bookish friends to pick what I will read in March. Each person chose two books. One was from my physical TBR and the other was any book of their choosing!

I decided to do this little challenge for a few reasons. First, it just sounds fun! Second, I thought this would be a great way to get through on TBR pile. Third, it helps me step out of my reading comfort zone. Hopefully I’ll find some new favorites.

Goodreads pages will be linked! I also linked my all of my friend’s social media, so be sure to give them a follow!

Lacey: YouTube | Instagram
-Book from my TBR: Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant
-Book of their choosing: Graceling by Kristin Cashore

-Book from my TBR: The Fever King by Victoria Lee
-Book of their choosing: Woven in Moonlight bu Isabel Ibañez

Cassie: YouTube | Instagram
-Book from my TBR: The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
-Book of their choosing: Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

That’s it! I really am so excited for everything I’m reading this month. I am going to try  to do some updates over on my Instagram stories. So if you want to know my thoughts on any of these books, head over there!

Hi everyone!

Once again this month’s TBR is small but oh my gosh I am REALLY excited to start reading!

Goodreads pages will be linked.

Lair of Dreams by LIbba Bray

The second book in the Diviners series, I am buddy reading this with my good friend Lacey. This book is over 500 pages long so it will take up a majority of the month and I am SO ready for it. I cannot wait to be back in this world.

Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman

This follows a girl who wants to be a trapeze artist. I’ve never read a contemporary that revolves around a circus so I am intrigued! Publication date is March 10.

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

This will be a reread for me. I am wanting to continue with the series but I need to refresh my memory on what happened in the first two books.

January TBR

Happy New Year!

I am starting off 2020 with a rather small TBR. I have quite a few ARCs (you’ll know which ones in a few days) that I need to get to this month. So for that reason, I am not putting too much on my plate.

The Queen’s Rising by Rebecca Ross

Ugh the cover of this book is absolutely gorgeous. For some reason I have been saving this book for the winter months. I am really looking forward to picking it up.

Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys

I haven’t read a historical fiction in forever and this one has been sitting on my shelf so it is about time to pick it up! I’ve heard amazing things about this author’s writing so fingers crossed that I will agree.

Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire

This is the fifth book in the Wayward Children series. I finally caught up with these books last year and now they are some of my favorites. I can’t wait to see where this story goes.

December TBR

HI everyone!

Wow, it has been a while since my last post. I am so sorry for falling off the face of the earth. If you saw my November TBR then you’ll remember that I wanted to catch up on all of the ARCs I had. So I kind of took a step back from all of my social accounts and just read. It was fantastic. I managed to finish all of the ARCs that I wanted to get to! I’m super proud of myself! Their reviews are ready to go as well so be on the look out for those within the next two months!

Anyway…

I seriously can’t believe it is the last month of the year! Time has flown by. My TBR for this month is going to consist of books that I DESPERATELY need to read before 2019 is over.

As always, if you would like more information on any of these books, their Goodreads pages wil be linked!

Not Guilty by Kayla Cutsinger

This is independently published by a local author. People around my town have really been liking this book so I am looking forward to starting it. If I remember correctly it is a romantic suspense. For this book, I have linked it’s Amazon page…just Incase you would like to support an indie author!

The Grace Year by Kim Liggett

I am so mad that I have not read this book yet. I was planning to read it once I received it, but it took forever to get to me. I’m trying really hard not to get my hopes too high, but I rally want to love this book. Fingers crossed that I do.

The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young

Another one I have put off for way too long.

Girls on the Verge by Sharon Biggs Waller

I have said this before but I have a very good feeling that this book will make my favorites list.

Six of Crows and Crooked KIngdom by Leigh Bardugo

So because I love these characters and the world so much, I have decided that every year I am going to do a reread of this otology. These books are going to be my last two reads of he year. I’m SO excited!

What books do you want to read by the end of the year??
