Hi everyone!

I started off 2020 with a pretty great book haul! 📚

Goodreads/reviews will be linked.

The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James

Fifth book in the Wayward Children series.

Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
I got this from a trade and I am going to be honest, I haven’t read Carry On yet. Oops!

The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones
If you remember last year, The Bone Houses was included in an Owlcrate box. Well they changed the background color to white and I was not a big fan of it. Since I had a little bit of gift card money left over from Christmas I decided to go ahead and get the original cover!

Lux Beginnings: Obsidian & Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I participated in a holiday book swap and this is what I received. I believe this is about aliens so that’s fun!

Christmas Book Haul

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday last week! Mine was full of fun, family and of course presents! Today I’m bringing you all the books I received for Christmas. 🎄

Wilder Girls by Rory Power

I have heard some crazy and weird things about this book since it’s release last summer! Super excited to read it soon.

Dry by Neal and Jarrod Shusterman

This is a dystopian about a catastrophic drought in California. That sounds interesting and terrifying at the same time.

Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant

Killer mermaids?? Yes please!!

LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff

I am looking forward to reading a solo written novel by this author.

Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire

This is the third book in the Wayward Children series. I have already read this & loved it. It is the only one in the series that I didn’t own yet.

Timekeeper by Tara Sim

How beautiful is that cover!? This story is set in a world that is controlled by clock towers. A damaged clock can fracture time or a destroyed one can stop it completely.

Girls With Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young

A dystopian thriller that follows girls uncovering secrets at a private boarding school! Sounds amazing.

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

The second book in the Grisha trilogy. I needed this one to complete my set with the new covers.

What was your favorite thing you got for Christmas??

November & December Book Haul

Hi everyone!

Do you remember back in October when I said I was done buying books for the rest of the year?? Yeahhh that mind set lasted about two weeks. What happened was…I completely forgot about Black Friday and then I saw some other really good deals. I couldn’t pass them up so here we are!

Goodreads pages will be linked!

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James

I’ve been wanting to read this for a while! It kind of reminds me of the movie Passengers. I’ve heard that the synopsis and the actual book are completely different so that should be interesting!

This Splintered Silence by Kayla Olson

Space and a deadly virus?? Sounds like a book I will enjoy!

Emergency Contact by Mary H. K. Choi

Honestly, this was a cover buy. I don’t really know what this book is about and that’s probably how I will go into it.

Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw

The white cover was the book pick for Owlcrate’s November box! I have already read Winterwood & really loved it! You can read my review here

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I finally gave in and joined Book of the Month. I was so excited to see that they offered this book so of course, I had to pick it!

Fear of Missing Out by Kate McGovern

This follows a girl who has cancer. She has to decide whether she wants to be frozen (cryopreservation) until a time in the future where there is a cure. Everything about this book intrigues me.

Not Pictured:

Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

So much nostalgia! When I read these books back in middle school, I didn’t have a library card yet, so I had to borrow from friends. It only took 10+ years, but I FINALLY have my own hardcover copies. I may see a reread in my future.

The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White

This was the book pick for Owlcrate’s December box.

I will hopefully have another small book haul coming before the end of the year. I mainly asked for books for Christmas so fingers crossed my family listened!

Huge October Book Haul

Hi everyone!

Okay so does anyone know that TikTok song lyrics “I just did a bad thing?” Well if you do, apply that to this book haul. My birthday was last month and needless to say I went a little bit wild. I didn’t mean to buy 18 books, but it happened. I have zero regrets…maybe.

If you want to know more information on any of these books, their Goodreads page will be linked!

The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

These books were supposed to be the only birthday present to myself. As you can tell, that didn’t really work out so well.

Not Guilty by Kayla Cutsinger

This is an independently published novel by a local author! Go check out it’s Goodreads and Amazon pages!

Rosemarked by Livia Blackburne

I am going to be super honest with you all, this was totally a cover buy. I have loved this cover since I saw it a few years ago. I got this off of ThriftBooks and to my surprise, it is a signed copy! How cool is that?!

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

Y’all, I GOT TO MEET MY FAVORITE AUTHOR! I still can’t really believe it. She was so nice and I didn’t make a fool of myself….thank gosh. I’m still kind of sad that the event people didn’t allow pictures, but I’ll get over it eventually. I have already read Ninth House and I loved it. I’m hoping to do a review for it very soon.

Wayward Children: books 1, 2 & 4 by Seanan McGuire

Last month I needed something quick to read so I picked up Every Heart a Doorway. I had no idea that it would become one of my favorite books of the year. I quickly read the rest of the series and I am now anxiously awaiting the fifth book that is to release in January.

The Grace Year by Kim Liggett

This book took SO long to get to me. I don’t really know what happened, but I am very happy to finally have my hands on it. Korrina from Owlcrate has praised this book so I am really looking forward to picking it up soon!

Girls on the Verge by Sharon Biggs Waller

I have had my eye on this book since the beginning of the year. Girls on the Verge follows a pregnant teen who goes on a road trip with friends to get an abortion. I know for a fact that this will be an emotional read. I’m hoping to get to it by the end of the year because I have a strong feeling it could make my top ten favorites of 2019!

Dear Swwet Pea by Julie Murphy

I have loved everything I have read by Julie Murphy so I have no doubt in my mind that I will love this too.

Crier’s War by Nina Varela & I Hope You Get This Message by Farah Naz Rishi

These two were the book picks for Owlcrate’s October box.

Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake

This is the fourth and final book in the Three Dark Crowns series. This was a wild conclusion and I loved every second of it. I am so sad that this series is over, but I know it is one that I will read over and over again.

Siege and Storm & Ruin and Rsing by Leigh Bardugo

I finally have a completed hardcover set with the original covers! I can’t even explain how happy that makes me!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire illustrated edition

I desperately need to do a reread of Harry Potter. I was going to this year, but plans changed. Hopefully net year I can work it into my TBR!

That is all! I didnt really realize how many books I purchased until I started typing up this post. I have now decided to go on a book buy ban for the rest of the year. Minus a few preorders and Owlcrate, I am done until January! My bank account will thank me.

What books did you acquire last month? Have you read any of the ones I mentioned?

September Book Haul

Hi everyone!

Another month has passed & of course I bought too many books!

As always, if you would like to know more about any of these, I have linked all of their Goodreads pages!

Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell & Faith Erin Hicks

This graphic novel is giving me ALL the fall vibes and I really need that right now! It’s literally 90 degrees where I live and it is freaking October. I need cool weather!

Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

Melanie from meltotheany has me very excited for this book! I was going to wait to buy it, but then Tor announced that the first editions had black sprayed edges sooo I jumped on that real quick.

The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young

Can we talk about the beauty that is this book?!

The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord

Have you ever requested an eARC from NetGalley but then realize that it’s a sequel to a book you haven’t read yet?? Yeah, I did that. So now I need to read The Start of Me and You sometime soon. I’m not mad about it though, I am actually really interested in this book!

The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd Jones

This was the book pick for Owlcrate’s September box. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this & I absolutely loved it!! You can read my review here. I have to be 100% honest with you though, I’m not a big fan of the cover change that Owlcrate did. I really loved the original black cover, but oh well! I am happy that they kept the gorgeous skull!

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I finally found a signed original cover in hardback! I am over the moon to have it. I got this off eBay and I was so nervous that it wasn’t going to be the cover I wanted, but thankfully it was! I totally did a little sequel when I opened the package too! 😂

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

We are ending this haul on the most gorgeous book! This is the collectors edition and I love it so much. It looks amazing next to the Six of Crows one!

Have you read any of these? What books did you haul last moth?
