Alphabet Recommendations: A, B and C

It’s the start of a new series here on my blog! This time around I am recommending you books based on the first letter of their title. Each post will have three letters with one book recommendation each. My goal to stay away from popular titles and instead introduce you to some underrated ones. Here we go!

I saw another blogger do something like this, but I can’t for the life of me remember who it was! If it was you, PLEASE let me know and I’ll give you credit!

I’d love for you all to leave a comment below telling me your favorite books that starts with A, B and C! I’ll share your answers in the next series post!

All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace

As princess of the island kingdom Visidia, Amora Montara has spent her entire life training to be High Animancer—the master of souls. The rest of the realm can choose their magic, but for Amora, it’s never been a choice. To secure her place as heir to the throne, she must prove her mastery of the monarchy’s dangerous soul magic.
When her demonstration goes awry, Amora is forced to flee. She strikes a deal with Bastian, a mysterious pirate: he’ll help her prove she’s fit to rule, if she’ll help him reclaim his stolen magic…

I will gush about ATSAT for FOREVER! This was the book of my dreams! I loved everything about it. The world, magic and characters were absolutely incredible. Adalyn Grace’s debut will take you on an epic journey on the sea. If you like stories with pirates, mermaids, danger, twists & turns…add this to your TBR!

Belle Revolté by Linsey Miller

In Belle Révolte we follow two women. Emilie wants nothing more than to study to be a physician, but since she is a noble lady, it is not acceptable to do so. We also follow Annette who desperately wants to be trained in her field of magic, but as a country girl, she doesn’t have that opportunity. When Emilie approaches Annette with a chance of a life time, she cannot refuse. The two switch lives. Emilie gets to study at university and Annette attends finishing school. When a war breaks out, the two women join forces with the rebellion to save the country.

I haven’t heard anyone talk about this book and it really bums me out because it is so good. Belle Revolté is one of the most unique books I have ever read. It’s a brutal story full of wild magic. It also has wonderful LGBTQ+ representation. There are characters who identify as ace, lesbian/bi and trans. Also, can we talk about how gorgeous the cover is?!

A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

Cursed by a powerful enchantress to repeat the autumn of his eighteenth year, Prince Rhen, the heir of Emberfall, thought he could be saved easily if a girl fell for him. But that was before he turned into a vicious beast hell-bent on destruction. Before he destroyed his castle, his family, and every last shred of hope.
Nothing has ever been easy for Harper. With her father long gone, her mother dying, and her brother constantly underestimating her because of her cerebral palsy, Harper learned to be tough enough to survive. When she tries to save a stranger on the streets of Washington, DC, she’s pulled into a magical world…

I know this book is somewhat popular, but I want MORE people to enjoy this beautiful story. If you are a fan of retellings…pick this up! Brigid Kemmerer takes the classic Beauty & the Beast and puts a unique and dark spin on it. You will get lost in the world of Emberfall.
