Huge October Book Haul

Hi everyone!

Okay so does anyone know that TikTok song lyrics “I just did a bad thing?” Well if you do, apply that to this book haul. My birthday was last month and needless to say I went a little bit wild. I didn’t mean to buy 18 books, but it happened. I have zero regrets…maybe.

If you want to know more information on any of these books, their Goodreads page will be linked!

The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

These books were supposed to be the only birthday present to myself. As you can tell, that didn’t really work out so well.

Not Guilty by Kayla Cutsinger

This is an independently published novel by a local author! Go check out it’s Goodreads and Amazon pages!

Rosemarked by Livia Blackburne

I am going to be super honest with you all, this was totally a cover buy. I have loved this cover since I saw it a few years ago. I got this off of ThriftBooks and to my surprise, it is a signed copy! How cool is that?!

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

Y’all, I GOT TO MEET MY FAVORITE AUTHOR! I still can’t really believe it. She was so nice and I didn’t make a fool of myself….thank gosh. I’m still kind of sad that the event people didn’t allow pictures, but I’ll get over it eventually. I have already read Ninth House and I loved it. I’m hoping to do a review for it very soon.

Wayward Children: books 1, 2 & 4 by Seanan McGuire

Last month I needed something quick to read so I picked up Every Heart a Doorway. I had no idea that it would become one of my favorite books of the year. I quickly read the rest of the series and I am now anxiously awaiting the fifth book that is to release in January.

The Grace Year by Kim Liggett

This book took SO long to get to me. I don’t really know what happened, but I am very happy to finally have my hands on it. Korrina from Owlcrate has praised this book so I am really looking forward to picking it up soon!

Girls on the Verge by Sharon Biggs Waller

I have had my eye on this book since the beginning of the year. Girls on the Verge follows a pregnant teen who goes on a road trip with friends to get an abortion. I know for a fact that this will be an emotional read. I’m hoping to get to it by the end of the year because I have a strong feeling it could make my top ten favorites of 2019!

Dear Swwet Pea by Julie Murphy

I have loved everything I have read by Julie Murphy so I have no doubt in my mind that I will love this too.

Crier’s War by Nina Varela & I Hope You Get This Message by Farah Naz Rishi

These two were the book picks for Owlcrate’s October box.

Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake

This is the fourth and final book in the Three Dark Crowns series. This was a wild conclusion and I loved every second of it. I am so sad that this series is over, but I know it is one that I will read over and over again.

Siege and Storm & Ruin and Rsing by Leigh Bardugo

I finally have a completed hardcover set with the original covers! I can’t even explain how happy that makes me!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire illustrated edition

I desperately need to do a reread of Harry Potter. I was going to this year, but plans changed. Hopefully net year I can work it into my TBR!

That is all! I didnt really realize how many books I purchased until I started typing up this post. I have now decided to go on a book buy ban for the rest of the year. Minus a few preorders and Owlcrate, I am done until January! My bank account will thank me.

What books did you acquire last month? Have you read any of the ones I mentioned?
