Colorful Covers | Orange

Hi everyone!

Today we are on to the next color in the Colorful Covers series! If you are new here, this is a series where I recommend you books completely based on the colors of their covers! I originally saw the Owlcrate team do this on their YouTube channel and thought it was a fun idea!

The color for this month is ORANGE! I’m not going to lie, this was a tough one. There aren’t many books (that I’ve read) with orange on the cover!

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit…

If you are looking for a fast paced & action packed science fiction…this is your book! Told through files, emails and messages, Illumiinae is an emotional roller coaster full of twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I seriously can’t recommend this book enough. You can read my full review here!

Far From the Tree by Robin Benway

Being the middle child has its ups and downs. But for Grace, an only child who was adopted at birth, discovering that she is a middle child is a different ride altogether. After putting her own baby up for adoption, she goes looking for her biological family

I don’t know about you, but I love a good emotional, hard hitting contemporary! Far From the Tree will definitely pull at your heart strings. This book is absolutely beautiful. Reading about siblings finding each other & forming a relationship…it is so special. This is the type of book that will stay on your mind for months after finishing it.

The Elite by Kiera Cass

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

This is actually the second book in The Selection series, so the snip it of the synopsis is from book one. No spoilers here! This series is just so much fun. It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea though. If you are in search of quick & mindless reads…look no further!

What are some of your favorite books with orange on the cover??

  1. I LOVE this series on your blog. YES to Illuminae. YES to Far From the Tree. I would LOVE to reread the Selection series eventually! I don’t own them, so I might see if they’re at Half Price!
