February Wrap Up

Is it just me, or did February fly by?

I read 8 books last month and wow, there were some really good ones!

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
Rating: ★★★★

The Lost Sisters by Holly Black
Rating: ★★★★
This is a novella to The Cruel Prince. It is told in the form of a letter to Jude from Taryn. It is kind of her apology, although not really. Taryn and Locke are still the absolute worst, but I really enjoyed this. It was nice to see things from Taryn’s point of view, but honestly, it didn’t add anything to the main story.

The Wicked King by Holly Black

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
Rating: ★★★
I originally had this as 4 stars but after thinking about it, it’s more of a 3 star read for me. The romance was really cute, but so unrealistic. If you like instalove stories…this book is perfect for you!

The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
Rating: ★★★★★
The Serpent King follows three teenagers as they struggle to find out who they are & who they want to be. Dill, Lydia and Travis are so different from one another, but the friendship they have is so special. I’m still not over this book. It seriously broke my heart. There’s one huge event that happens & I was no where near prepared for it. I still don’t know how to put all of my feelings into words. So I’m just going to say…read this book! Jeff Zentner’s writing is absolutely beautiful. I’m looking forward to reading more of his work.

Ivy Aberdeen’s Letter to the World by Ashley Herring Blake
Rating: ★★★★★
This is a middle story about family, friendships and sexuality. It was perfect and beautiful. Everyone needs to read this!

On the Come Up by Angie Thomas
Rating: ★★★★★
Absolutely loved this!  I was so invested in this story. The main character Bri is so talented and I was rooting for her the entire time. I can’t wait to see what Angie Thomas will do next.

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Rating: ★★★★
What a crazy ride this book was! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I thought it would take me a long time to get through the book, but um… no, it was very hard to put down. The twists and turns were so good and that ending! I am so excited to pick up Gemina. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook and following along with the physical book. The audio has a full cast and sound effects. It’s fantastic. It is such a cool way to experience this story.

Was February a good reading month for you?
